The orifice plate differential pressure flowmeter has a long history and complete test data. It has a simple structure, no moving parts, is stable and reliable during long-term use, and has high accuracy. It has rich design, manufacturing and application experience. It has a high degree of standardization and good linearity, and does not require real-flow calibration. The orifice plate flowmeter has reliable experimental data and the complete international and national standard GB2624-93. It has a large and inherent market both abroad and at home, and users are familiar with it and the data is complete. It follows international standards for calculation and processing, and is flexible and convenient to use. Currently, in China, the orifice plate differential pres- sure flowmeter is still the most widely used in flow measurement, according to relevant data estimates, accounting for 75%-85% of the total usage of flow meters. It is widely used in industries such as steam boilers, petroleum, chemical industry, steel, power, water conservancy, papermaking, pharmaceuti- cals, food and chemical fibers.

working principle

Based on the Bernoulli equation. When the fluid flows through the orifice plate of the pipeline, the flow channel suddenly shrinks, the flow speed accelerates, and the static pressure decreases, so a stable pressure difference or pressure difference is formed before and after the standard orifice plate. The greater the flow rate of the medium flow, the greater the pressure difference generated before and after the flow orifice plate. The more obvious the change in flow rate, the greater the pressure difference before and after. The square root of the pressure difference is proportional to the volume flow rate. The core formula Q=K·√ΔP can calculate the instantaneous flow and cumulative flow by measuring the pressure difference. This measurement method is based on the principles of the flow continuity equation (law of conservation of mass) and Bernoulli's equation (law of conservation of energy).
